INCHIUVATU had formed on the holy Friday 1993, thanks to AGGHIASTRU, the creator of all artistic expression of the project.
“The Garden of the Sin” is the place where the human tragedy is exalted to give vent to an ephemeral art which wants to relieve human pain. The human being lives the conflict between life and the mistery of life , but he can never defeat it. “The Garden of the Sin” is surrounded with images of spirit and fairies that have nothing to do with the cristian vision of Hell, purgatory and heaven. It is the place of desolation, of doubts and vices, of anxiety and of ephemeral pleasures; but above all “The Garden of the Sin” is the place of the human being’s loss. There AGGHIASTRU, who can be compared to Virgilio, Dante’s guide, leads the visitor by the hand through the Garden which is dominated by the enigmatic face with three legs, the so called “TRINACRIA” (an ancient symbol of Sicily), through the dark paths of the INCHIUVATU reign, searching of the tragic truth which is contained in him work.

INCHIUVATU: Agghiastru opera agli inizi degli anni 90 con diverse bands che saranno il trampolino di lancio per la definitiva creazione di INCHIUVATU e di altri progetti della Scena Mediterranea. Dal ’90 al ‘92 con i Perfidia, nel ’93 con Eden/Inchiuvatu, ‘94 come Tenebra/Inchiuvatu. Inizialmente la formazione era composta da: Jafà (batteria) Nadur (basso) Agghiastru (voce, chitarre e tastiere). Succesivamente nel ‘96 al posto di Jafà subentra dietro le pelli Faidda. Ma neanche ciò servì a definire meglio il sound di Inchiuvatu, che negli anni a venire vede la band ridotta ad un duo, Nadur (basso) Astru (voce, chitarre e tastiere) e alla definitiva sostituzione della figura del batterista con una più intrigante e gelida drum-machine. Nel ’97 esce l‘eclatante debut-cd “Addisìu” a cui fanno seguito memorabili concerti con affianco ad Agghiastru membri illustri della Scena sicula: Nadur, Fantasima (basso) 3 e LiotruM (chitarre).
Oggi Inchiuvatu è per Astru un personale dipinto dove far emergere i toni dei suoi drammi esistenziali, infatti con il successivo cd “Viogna” uscito nel 2000, la maturazione è completa. Gli show che produce live glorificano la sua figura solitaria di “cantastorie” ironica e irriverente, spesso accompagnato dal suo “Teatrino della Vergogna” dove inscena le sue liriche, o da altri impianti scenografici costruiti dallo stesso e di cui ne da visione anche negli spettacolari artworks dei cds. Per quanto riguarda il concept, Inchiuvatu non è solo riferito a colui il quale fu crocifisso, bensì analizza una condizzione umana dove si tenta costantemente di trovare risposte ai solenni drammi dell’esistenza umana. La musica proposta può essere descritta come una sorta di black/death/symphonic ma con ampia attenzione alle maestose atmosfere Mediterranee e folk Sicule. Tutti i testi sono in dialetto Siculo per meglio descrivere i temi affrontati, ma anche in italiano. Nel 2004 esce il terzo capitolo Inchiuvatu ''Piccatu'', trame e riffs più complessi e temi sempre più intimi. Nel 2008 'Miseria' segna la definitiva maturità di Agghiastru col progetto metal Inchiuvatu. Un doppio album registrato tra il 2007 e il 2008 che mette sempre più in luce la volontà dell'artista di fare della musica un veicolo per esprimere il proprio pensiero interiore libero da ogni possibile etichetta musicale. Tuttavia, come si evince dal titolo, la condizione sociale non puo' che affogare nella miseria più assoluta, rendendo vano ogni sforzo creativo. Sul finire del 2008 esce un Ep dal titolo 33. Rappresenta gli anni di Agghiastru e la sua riflessione di uomo giunto a quell'età. Musicalmente questi ultimi lavori si avvicinano maggiormente alle atmosfere semplici e un po' ingenue di ''Addisìu'', forse è proprio un richiamo a quella fanciullezza che Agghiastru vede ormai perduta. Nel 2009, in aperta campagna sicula e in presa diretta, viene registrato ECCE HOMO, edito il 22 aprile 2011. Questi due primi lavori daranno inizio ad una sorta di trilogia di EP, continuata con INRI del 2013 e successivamente cambiata in pentalogia, con l'uscita  e la programmazione di VIA MATRIS nel 2014, e di VIA LUCIS nel Venerdì Santo del 2015. Con questi 5 EP, Agghiastru ragiona sul suono di Inchiuvatu, sulle tematiche, incentrate prevalentemente sulla vita del Cristo ma con un forte richiamo all'Uomo, e sul proseguo del progetto. Infatti, al termine di tale 'viaggio', arriverà il quinto album ufficiale.
